Been looking at the 550xp.. I think I'm gonna go with that. Suits the budget and seems to be a good saw. I have not had a husqvarna saw, normally always in the stihl camp. But I'm gonna change it up being that no one has recommended a stihl equivalent on this thread... Can anyone tell me why? With good reason, not just because you say so!!!

Huskys have more zip, feel better and less bulky in the hand ect.. New stihls like to do this ImageUploadedByArbtalk1438456616.038903.jpg.0fd57cffc1e4bde916441df239dac597.jpg

Hi Joe it ain't bad as it is mind I wouldn't mind trying it with a 8 pin rim

I'm running the same setup on my 550xpg. As long as you don't force the saw into the cut the 8 pin makes a decent difference in cut speed. The sprockets are less than a tenner so worth a punt.

My 560 is in the workshop awaiting parts (that apparently are held up at Calais )

Blocking down a big oak stem tomorrow with a 441. I've got a 20" bar and a 30" bar. It will be interesting to see how it copes.
