Not a chipper, Its a grinder. Although CBI do a chipper rotor conversion for the 8400 series.

Do you know Davey Dick? He has one... £500,000 it cost him

OMFG!!

I bet the hire on that sucker would be pretty steep.

I dont know Davey, but I do know of him...

Looks like i'll have to stick to the stump grinding in October..so far we're set to have a self propelled grinder and an operative working for the month - just waiting to find out how much the hire company are going to skin me for teeth etc.

The vermeer chippers are awesome.. seen plenty of videos of them working and when I finally get around to buying a chipper i'll probably go for a vermeer or a jensen..

Haha, Vermeer or Jensen? That is two ends of a scale. There is little to choose between all the US manufacturers. Bandit and Vermeer are biased more towards Tree services, Morbark and Dynamic are slightly more forestry biased.

Jensen are puny little things that have an infuriating infeed that drove me up the wall whenever I fed ours.

only big chippers i have fed are the komptech ones chipping wood for biomass, they seem to gobble it up pretty quickly but they are out of the realm for linkage mounting due to size and weight. the ones i load are all either roll on roll of or tri axle drag behind a 6 wheeler

2,600 + VAT including transport, minimum 1 day. Priced one in for a large stump job. Trouble is nobody wants the grindings lol.

ALOT of money has been ploughed into obtaining biomass from stumps and it is failing due to the expense of the operation.

Stick to grinding Matt !

Komptech is'nt a chipper though - as far as I'm aware they make slow speed high torque shaft shredders?
