Google Analytics

Does anyone use Google Analytics to look at viewing data for their website?

 

I use it and most of my site viewings come in as "Not set", so I cant see where the viewer is from.

If anyone knows how to set it up properly, (bear in mind that I'm not a computer geek!) your help would be very much appreciated.

Have you pasted the html snippet onto each page you wish to track?

We added it to the basic page template so when new pages are added its there by default.

 

 

The data you get is interesting, page view time, location, client, device etc

Its the viewer location which is important in my situation.

I'm not too worried about which or how many pages they view, but need a site specific location (Town or city) of the viewer.

I would assume that there is simply no data to show, users choosing not to be tracked etc, The percentage is high from mine also as you can see.

 

I think my .com redirect is giving me so many hits from the USA.

 

Can really help but would interested in your findings.

You got it fella.

It tells you on the previous page that you've had 80 hits (for example) from the UK and then when you click on that page you just posted it says UK 2 hits 78 Not Set!

 

So blooming frustrating

Maybe spammers? I'm having problems myself at the moment with floating share buttons and daroradar messing up my stats

Use google web master tools as well.
