Tree disease, loss of leaves

Can anyone diagnose this problem, affected leaves are shrunken, most leaves are lost

Small amount of insect munching on the leaves in the pic . Was there more of this ?

Looks like Pseudomonas syringae,fungus not insects causes those holes. they call them shot holes.

I am going to sound really stupid here... What tree is it? The leaf looks like P. Padus but the bark does not...

I agree with Jesse, the leaves are showing shot hole symptoms from Pseudomonas infection. Although as far as I am aware the holes are as a direct result of the bacteria (Pseudomonas) not a secondary fungus.

 

Tree is as suggested, Prunus padus.

Yes it is bacteria, but i did read somewhere that as the brown spots develop as a result of the bacterial infection it was fungal development within each brown spot which caused the shot hole to develop. read it at KMC library so can not now reference the author.

Maybe hard to see from photos but bark is very smooth too smooth I would venture for a cherry
