Try strong vinegar or acetic acid. You could also use Roundup with detergent and/or wallpaper paste, to make the weedkiller stick to the waxy surface of the liverwort.

 

Acetic acid yes. Glyphosate no. Treat early before the formation of sporocarps because it is much more difficult to control after. Or just live with it as said. If you can reduce the moisture in the area and get it dried out and air there will be much less forming anyway

I probably would have left it but it is coming up between the flags next to the house so is looking a right mess.

 

I agree, I think the key is getting through the waxy surface. What detergent could you use for that? Can you just add washing up liquid to a weed killer or is there a specific product?
