Our Quadchip will overheat and cut out during the summer when chipping conifer hedge material 'IF' you don't stop and remove the fluff that builds up on the radiator screens outer and inner.

Also, blow out regularly and pressure wash BOTH the radiators from time to time as matter slowly accumulates in the rads.

This is reason 19b in my list of why you should never rent/loan your kit out to ANYBODY!

The reason I don't lend kit out is most people do not look after your kit as you do. If a job gets hard rather than pause and find a solution they abuse your kit as the repairs will not come out of their pocket a few months down the line. I used to have a small fleet of large silent hire generators. In the space of a week I was chasing payment on several hires paying for a new injection pump as someone had refilled the tank with water to save acing for diesel on off hire. The new set I had just paid 20 k for and sent out on hire someone with thick grease on their boots had scrabbled up the side and walked all over the roof. I sent the whole collection to auction banked the money and not looked back.

Used the greenmech again yesterday, it overheated and cut out after less than half an hour.

Our demo machine did exactly this within 30min.

Then again after lunch.

However, I called Jason at G.M H.Q and a small adjustment of the bonnet catch sensor sorted the cutting out problem.

The smoking from under the hood which gave us all a proper shock was in fact just the fibreglass insulation burning off whatever had to be burned off.

After that was all cleared up we had 8 hours trouble free chipping. Much material right on the limit of what it could take.

Our demo machine had only 4 hours on the clock and had never been used for more than a few minutes gentle chipping at a time during a trade show so never got up to heat.

The smell of the hot paint, belts and insulation did alarm us but after an hour had all gone away.

The blades made a lovely fine chip, the machine is going to be easy to maintain and solidly built, should hold it's value.
