chain tension

Well i thank all you lads for your help and guidance and yes it was oil related, there was very little getting to the chain but i was using a great deal of oil, after doing what i was advised running the saw without the bar etc' i noticed no oil coming from the feed but was dripping from the bottom of the saw, in fact after taking out the worm gear for a look the oil pipe had actually came off the top end of the pump, tried running it and it seems fine now but haven't actually cut with it yet, thanks once again to you guys, much appreciated, cheers for now Pete.

Just a word of warning, if the clutch is spun onto the crank with left hand thread, you should never run the saw with the bar removed, the clutch can spin off on the over run, once off the shoes and spring fly off the spider, this can cause serious injury, if you have to run it with out bar and chain, remove the clutch.

Seen sprockets spinning on the spot, disappearing down the drive at high speed, shoes flying off for 30 yards:blushing: Never again!!!
