picked up my new car and some guy crashed into me in a landy on a country road, so insurance gave me a great wall as a loan car till mine was fixed. in the week i had it it broke down twice. got stuck in a grass field and the second time the guy came from the AA to fix it he said "oh, we don't have those adaptors for the laptops thats a chinese edu system" sure enough it got picked up on a recovery truck and i got a ford ranger dropped to me the next morning. so in a nut shell..... STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! if you are going to buy a truck make sure you buy something worth your time, if you stick with ford, isuzu, mitsubishi, vw, toyota .... main brands you might pay a touch on the higher side but at least when it goes wrong it can be fixed and not just glued back together.

They are junk i see quite a few at the accident damaged auctions, they get written off for the smallest bump. they look like the disintegrate. As above the older ssangyongs use to be merc engines and running gear so pretty much bullet proof i don't know about the newer ones. As previously said get a known make, unless you need to be in a brand new pick up and have a limited budget hence why you are looking at the the wall pick up, Even then I'm sure you could crack a deal on a poverty spec known pick up rather than junk great wall.

Final word would be get a hilux

I spoke to the dealer of ssangyongs at the devon show, as I thought they had merc engines, but the new ones are there own engines

That good?!

I liked my old sierra :blushing:

No experience of the Great Wall's other than there's more and more of them appearing round us.

Hi Chris same around here they seem to be coming more popular that's why I was curious about them and main dealer is only about 10 mins from my spot.

Are you looking at buying a new Great Wall? If so I looked at one, wasn't impressed with it and read some stories on the web. For a bit more at £15.5k all in I got a brand new l200 single cab 5 year warranty, 3 years servicing, tow bar and liner seemed a good deal to me
