What about a screw splitter or wood buster on a 360 or forklift/loader, to bust up the big stuff, then stick it through the processor?

No cross cutting, but probably more waste?

Yes if I did not need the billets for the boiler that would be the way to go, but I think the Posch splitmaster is the best thing for billets, we are already trying to bring timber home in meter lengths.

Have you ever tried putting v shaped material through knives it's not pretty any one buying kiln dried will expect a consistently shaped log you will end up with lots of little ones and lots of big ones. I'd break them down on the posh and have the magic at the table and put any oversize through that

I'm keeping the magic anyway, so thats always an option, time will tell.

Not sure what your asking Jon?

The splitmaster will take timber upto 1.25 meters in length, my boiler takes logs up 1 meter in length, so we will cross cut at 1 meter and then split.

Guilty conscience......................?

Comment was directed at the OP.

Was expecting prices etc, as suggested.

Whens the Posch coming Sky?

No, just one glass of red to many

My kit is arriving next saturday, decided to go for a 350 rather than the 300.
