Axe or maul for splitting oak

In general I use both, i chop and change between them as I split. I only have a cheap axe and a stihl maiul head on a replacement handle, I mean to get an x27 one day but only seem to see x25s for sale round here.

Price seems to have dropped to 51 quid deliverd with a sharpener, I already have too many axes so I guess I won't be comparing them.
