Carved this over the bank holiday and standing back and looking at it I'm not sure if it's an owl or something from Harry Potter. I have carved owls before and used pictures as a guide , this came out of my head.

Constructive criticism most welcome before I decide to carve similar.

Thanks Sloth, I appreciate your comments regarding the wings, the base is just the original piece of wood with a branch stump left in place, I should have done more with that.

Many thanks

I like the feet, good job mate. To be accurate the wings should be much longer and bottom edge higher up, but having said that it's eye catching and has presence👍

Thanks Simon, I appreciate your comments very much, I took the wings to the extreme of the peace of Oak I used which limited me a little, I will concentrate more on the wings for the next one.

Thanks by the way for agreeing to a visit one-day, I drink gallons of tea myself :-)I will fetch some biscuits

Thank woodcrafter, I like the term 'owlnix' and your right it does look like a cross between the two. I will carve another and sort the wings out next time with a more suited piece of wood.

Appreciate your comments msnyvthanks
