nice one rob, i think that is excellent, what is the maximum weight that can work on?you could have a good laugh with that scaring old grannies and kids, lol

If you feel in the mood you can have some fun and hide and get the kids guessing what's going on but they soon twig!

I think this system will move 1500kg... But in the mud and wet it can start sliping and so then you have to help it along. But what would be really good would be direct hydraulic drive where you just take a feed off the pump.... you'd be able to go all over the place. :001_smile:

Should be quite easy to do but not cheap. About six years ago I hired an Omme 100ft tow behind mewp, it had hydraulic movers on the wheels which were operated via a joystick.

All you would need to do is buy a scrapper or order the system off the Omme

This might sound a bit whacko, but instead of trying to get a small chipper in the back garden, why not drag the stuff out to the front where you could use a better chipper (from the money you save on not having it self-powered, on tracks or strapped to a quad, and still needing a trailer to get it to the job in the first place.

Sorry, I`ve had a couple of pints.

what about the pumps off an old ransommes tripple mower ir the likes?

You'd have to cobble something together or slow them down with epicyclic gearing or such.

The system is already out there ready to bolt on, the Omme is just one example of the application, it should just be a dead easy task of stripping it off the omme and onto the chipper with minimul mods

Here's a pic of a mewp with a power unit infront of the wheel if you look close

That looks bloody good.

The trouble is though no matter what system you get you'd have to do it yourself as the chipper manufacturers want to sell expensive tracked chippers not chippers with bolt ons...
