i say 'do you want to keep the wood and the chip' i explain the diference in cost for chip and wood to be left on site and they always say ok, why pay me and a lad to drag brash away to chip and remove off site, when she has 2 young sons, a huge garden and a log burner, explain the best methods for dealing with each and job done:001_smile:i havent taken ANY chip away in 2 months of owning gloria and i dont use any other chipper these days, big huge bandit is in the huff:biggrin:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you deffinately have it well sorted out there:thumbup1:

I woulda never thought thought customers would go for it but you have defffo proved me wrong!

the diference is, when you have a bigger chipper and a vehicle to takeit away plus 2 guys, you have to take stuff away to make up your day financially, and it may be quicker so you can rush to the next job, drop the boys off, go and empty the chip and logs and head back like a mad man, and all that running about leads to more wear and tear and breakdowns and stress, i go to work in my trainers and comfy trousers, get changed at the job and come home the same way, i dont even need to go to the yard for anything, i just bring everything home in the van

My client today has built a specific chipping bay for me to chip into. Although he has around five acres of garden, there is no real access for machinery. except the Jo-Botastic chipper!! I used to cut everything for him to burn, but obviously the amount of stuff I generated was too much for a 70year old to keep up with. He was chuffed when I turned up with the Jo-Beau M300 (available thru FR Jones) and he thinks its marvellous!

it is nice to enjoy work with out worrying about finance and the fear of a huge breakdown, if for some reason little gloria blew up tomorrow and i had to replace her i would in a second, she pays for herself every month with out question. charlie, if you try and put a big bit of rhody in backwards then you will walk off in a rage, but prep well and juststick it in, i have a big brush that i use to shove straglly stuff through, the main thing is not to let the throat build up with awkward bits, i wouldnt try and use this with a 3 man team trying to blitz a job super quick, but foe 1 clever guy and a wee helper wanting an easy life, lots of coffee breaks and a stress free life then get a tiny chipper:thumbup1:what you loose in chipping size you make up for in zero dragging, if you had to drag out to the front drive then process the stuff so much you would get fed up with it really quickly, the job above with the conifers i did in approx 3 hrs with lunch and a coffee inbetween, now if i had priced that job to fell and remove off site i would of needed £400 minimum and would of struggled to find a home for chip close by, and the only place the customer wanted those chips is where the trees were.
