Thanks, yeah it's a very interesting tree, it's a bit of a mystery as to how it became multi stemmed. But this has certainly presented some unique architecture which is unfortunately prone to failure, hence the cable bracing and pruning.

Hi, I'm not sure to be honest, I'll try and find out, would be interesting to know of any other multi stemmed GS

can't remember if the one on countryfile was a giant sequoia but there can't be that many trees that look like that and there was a tree that had at least 4 stems feature some years ago.

there is some in Darlington, South Park like that! it's a really strange sight...... only baby's though at about 300 year old if my memory serves me right!!
