Flue Pipe

I would agree that there are a lot of rip off merchants in the industry, and a huge amount on line but there are also a lot of honest traders out there giving sound advice and service, mainly small family firms.

Had a mate install his own stove in a farm barn using steel pipe, the pipe got so hot it set fire to his barn roof, no safety sign off so no insurance cover even from the NFU. All to save a few hundred quid, the fire cost him dearly as he has to re roof most of the barn. I had warned him about it only weeks before when I happened to be a guest there.

That's fair enough point and sobering experience for your friend.

Knowledge is vital with these things, shame your free advice didn't save the barn.

Such is life, you can lead the horse to water but you cant force it to drink.

Had 2 severe fires now that I had warned about and another is waiting to happen, combustible material almost touching a flue pipe although it is insulated it still gets hot enough to ignite the material.
