I filled my barn with timber last year for sale for this winter with the wood I get from tree work,

as it will be my first year in selling firewood this winter I was wondering is there away a could get a rough calculation on how many ton bags of firewood I will sell.

I presume the best way is to measure is the length x the width x the height to get the square meter of the barn and the same with bags,

then divide the square meter size of the barn by the size of the square meter bags size and this should give me a approximate calculation.

Is this correct or is there a alternative way.

Then Once I've sold a barn full I will no for next year what the true figure will be.

Hi length x width x height will give you the cubic metre value then you can work out exactly how many bags you have. Remember ton bags come in all sizes ie 80x80x80 =0.5 metre3 85x85x85=0.614 metre3 90x90x90=0.73cube

or get proper vented bags that are 1 cube metre.Hopefully you put them in the shed dry as you could well up with the middle of the pile damp white mouldy and not a lot of good to anyone.

Cheers Chris
