Croft Castle?

Thinking of heading to Croft Castle in Herefordshire tomorrow, have heard they have some great veteran trees. Anyone been? Worth a trip?

Yes, I have been many times. Some lovely vet trees, lovely parkland- and a good walk up to the iron age hillfort through the forestry. Well worth it.!

Fantastic place to go with loads of really impressive trees, I went with the wife for a day last year and took 200+ photos

I lived just down from chestnut grove and spent my childhood in Mortimer forest some stunning trees dotted around some hidden gems off the beaten track.

 

There removing 68 hectors of softwood to take it back to parkland the way it was many years ago shame they went through two years ago and striped the mature oak.

 

Fish pool valley is on the right as you go up the entrance drive it leads up to the Iron Age camp where you can see 7 counties on a clear day.
