Husky 350e

Can anyone tell me some information on these saws. A mates been offered one for £150 and asked me for some advice. Any help appreciated, cheers Gand

The 350 is similar in construction to Stihls MS250. It has a bottom crankcase made of engineering plastic, the upper is a clam type affair with a conventional cylinder.

 

They are capable saws, good AV and power, I had the smaller 345 and they are a bit like a home owner version of the 346 just not as powerful.

 

If the saw is in a good clean condition then £150 is about right.

The 350 was the largest of the 3 series semi pro saws ( 340,345 and 350) it shares the same composit crankcase as the 340,345, however had a flat base cylinder and spacer to sandwich the crankshaft, it shares many of the parts used on the pro 346xp, all that said it was a really good saw, if in good condition well worth £150, ran .325 chain as standard, ran best with 15" bar, 18 and 20 were available, the ser no on the r/h side of the saw behind the top handle will give the age of the saw.

Cheers spud. Should be better than his 236? He has ( I'm not a husky man) the bloke has a load of logs to try it on before he buys so should be able to figure out any niggles with it.

The saws 2008 first thing he will do is give it to me for a days use then I'll take it my dealer for a full service etc

A far better saw than the 236.

I gathered that. He bought it at the APF at Cannock. So a few years old now and he's been offered £100 for it

I had a 350 but just couldn't get on with it because it felt really slow in the cut compared to my other saws (346,357,560,371) and it constantly had a pool of chain oil underneath it.

Cheers for that, as said though he's going from a 236 off the top of my head. It's going to be used for bits of firewood, so should do him a treat

Yes, but I'd prefer to avoid the "e" version, as it adds weight for pretty useless features.

 

The 350 is the best plastic cased saw ever made though, much better than the MS250 that has been mentioned here. You actually can put a 346xp top end on it, with a slight modification to the case.
