Stihl - Crazy UK pricing

So are you saying because Canada, USA and Australia etc sell more saws than Stihl UK they should charge more and expect similar profits to other countrys? That ridiculous! Imo if the market is smaller in any profession you should expect less profit/ turnover.

 

No, they can charge less as they sell far more! You never heard of 'pile it high, sell it cheap'?

I had a 201T nicked of site this week , rang up local dealer to order replacement and found that Mr Stihl has had a 10% price increase since last October . He obviously thinks we're out of recession and its time we all paid more . On a more promising note the "old" 201T is now dearer than the Husqy " new toy price " 540 . Now we need Mr Stihl to relax his dealer protection scheme .

They charge what the market will bear, husqvarna charge a comparable price for comparable models.

 

 

Sort of, but it varies a lot between different markets, and even between models or model segments.
