Carlton 900 handbrake

Handbrake has gone from sticking on intermittently to every time.

I've had it apart, cleaned the disc, calipers etc. but the cable will not release without help.

In fact, I can't even work out what is meant to pull the cable back into the 'unbraked' position!

Help!

No visible wear.

It unlocks fine when you lift the arm with a scrench, which then pulls the cable out of the sleeve.

The thing is, I can't see what is applying force to return the cable?

its because the brake system is crap. I bodged a spring on the body work of the grinder to help pull it back the other way. it was an old spring from a chainbreak and worked very well
