They also can't spell or pronounce aluminium and call trousers pants........and????

As I said - if using one raises the revs, it flows better....simple!

Annoyingly, the metal was originally called aluminum...british/european scientists wanted to rename it in line with other metals like sodium, magnesium etc so we called it aluminium!

My brother in law is american, when he came over to the uk in the early days of marriage to my sister he shouted down the stairs to my sis... "have you seen my khaki pants?" we pissed ourselves laughing much to his confusion.

Yes but they do pronounce it cacky, not like we do, car key and khaki was from India where it did originally mean "cacky" Two nations divided by a common language and all that. If aluminium was to fit in with other metal names why do we have platinum not platinium ?

Originally it was called alumium, the aluminum is to do with patents for certain products.

It's similar to vacuum cleaners referred to as hoovers, sellotape, cut-off saws referred to as Stihl saws.

Finally, aluminum was discovered in England, our name for it is correct, the Americans were far too busy killing Indians to make any scientific discoveries at that time.

Then what about Vermouth and Vermooooth, and what is wrong with a car boot or good old rubbish?

I get a bit peeved with us English following some of this US crap - when did we start having Malls - what was wrong with the Arndale and Whitgift centres?

Anyway - who is up for testing a K&N filter and reporting back?
