Was sold to me as the more gutsy version 50cc I think with the silver brake cover.

Any idea of the cost of a refurb as it sounds a bit beyond me fixing it?

The 45cc version had no decomp valve, the later 50cc version had one, the 45cc one had no carb priming bubble, the later one did, the 50cc one has a silver side cover, the older 45cc one was orange. The exhaust on the older 45cc model had a front exiting exhaust with a baffle the later version was on the top of the exhaust with no baffle.

The fuel line will typically fail where it fits through the wall of the fuel tank, if you block one end, you can use a pressure gauge to check it - you can suck on it but it is less accurate if the hole is small!

I had assumed it was a 50cc one but the jury is out on that one!

All my huskys have 02 and the id tag but none of them are 2002 saws you might have looked at the wrong number on the tag ?, my 346xp is an old 99 model with no decomp valve but still going strong (touch wood) lol

If you don't mind a bit of fuel taste in your mouth then pull the pipe out the tank and remove filter.

Unplug the other end where it pushes on the carb.

Stick a finger over 1 end and suck into the other end causing a vaccum, stick your tongue over the end and see if it maintains the vacuum.

Normally gives the game away after 10-20 seconds if it holds it or not.

From what you say spud it's definitely the 50cc version.

Edit. Yep definitely a great machine if I can get it back to full strength.

Will try wisecobandit's sugestion as it will be closest I have been to having a drink for ages.

I can't help you directly. But if it's playing up and you don't reckon on being able to fix it yourself. Why not send it to Spud for a looksee/fixed and maybe get it modded/ported while it's with him.

Its an option, another is that Gardenkit is down near Exeter and he knows his stuff! Just depends on how good your local outfit is in cost and expertise.
