Winch for hung up trees (not Tirfor)

Looking for advice for a decent value winch just for pulling back hung up trees to get them down.

 

Got a bit of lodged windblow (medium size softwoods) in an area too wet and dense to use the tractor and chain.

 

Won't be using it for felling or pulling over trees. Would love a tirfor but can't justify it for a handfull of trees in own woodlands.

Thanks, what capacity is yours? For the 800kg Landmark want £185 but can get the same model on ebay for just £97

Mines 1600kg, go for that. Be very careful buying stuff like this of eBay. Better off getting one from a arb dealer but that's just my own opinion

I've got this bad boy 5.4 Tonne Wire Rope Winch c/w Winch Rope | WRW5400.20 | SafetyLiftinGear i've also got arms like popeye from carrying it about.

Planning on getting a 1600kg one with a long wire rope so that's what I would recommend.

I got a 1600kg one off securefixdirect (on ebay) years ago, good bit of kit, doesn't get used that often but has proved very useful and has pulled some fair weights

We've got one of these. With a small set of pulleys and a couple of strops it's fantastic. Comes in a handy box. So simple and very quick to use and no wire drum to muck about with.
