Which saw to buy ?

Personally would not call the 560 or 550 blocking down saws, I may have got the original post wrong but to me a blocking down saw is a saw with torque around 70cc capable of a bar of 20-24" , stihls In this category are the 441 or 461 and they cost a lot more than £600 although the 560 is more than capable of working on a 18" bar its more than £600 and a little to highly strung to ring up large timber all day long.

I think blocking down has different meanings depending on if you're a climber or carver :)

Hi.

Joe , Fib and MattyF because you guys use these saws day in day out in your job then I feel your opinions carry a lot of weight . All the replies have been very honest on this thread. Quite suprising as some guys I've spoken too are very passionate about one or the other .

Cheers
