Petzl zigzag uses

That's a pretty useless comment Ben.

 

Good point on the bending back on itself, will stick it on the longer rope as you say, looks to be the way forward.

 

I have to disagree with you about Ben's comment being useless. It is one man giving you his very blunt and honest opinion about things.

 

I believe he is just expressing the way that a lot of climbers feel about things now that more than one version of the Zig-Zag has encountered the same issue. Which by the way is a potentially life threatening one. Petzl has lost the trust of a lot of climbers because of this issue, and even more because of their handling of it after it happened, I think.

Petzl, dropped the ball on this one...does not matter to me as I have no interest in things DdRT for a long time....I would check the zig zag often...please don't take any chances climbing on a cracked one...a life is just not worth it...my 2 cents...

Use mine for small and big work. So far it's been great -easy climbing, self tending, seems to keep my climbing rope in better condition.

 

Mine has not cracked yet (2nd series). Only real thing I had to get used to was not to push the descending 'switch' with my arm when I don't mean to. Had me almost sh*t myself on one or two occasions...
