Can you get retrofit auto reverse kits now?

 

I have an old pto chipper that only had it as an expensive option 12 years ago.

 

Just wondering how feasible and if the price has dropped significantly with the March of technology.

 

Currently it works by grabbing the control bar and manually setting what you want.

Thorne Engineers (Sabres Wood-chipper) advertise on their website that they can retrofit a system on any machine now. Give Rowan a call there.

Had a look, they are only an hour away from me. The remanufactured chippers look good value. Stress kit is listed as £650+VAT. Which is a bit much for me. I don't use my chipper for months at a time. The cost doesn't warrant it for me.

In fairness the components are probably not cheap to buy.

Thanks J, I assume I need more on mine than that. Something to actuate the pump and control it. It currently just a yank and push cable. I really do have too many project dreams in the pipeline.

Great system, will come in at just over £200 delivered - all you need is a simple electric hydraulic valve to dump pump pressure back to tank- flowfit will help you on this- dress control unit can pick up its speed signal from the alternator.
