Ha! That S75 dodge is worth a fortune now. You wont see one change hands for less than £5k nowadays. I sold mine and deeply regreted it. Now I have another with an access platform.

And yes, you need an O licence for anything over 3.5 tonnes.

Can you have an O licence for a domestic address, or do you need to have registered business premises?

Really can't be doing with more paperwork, but I'm getting a trailer to pull with the transit next week!

Roughly how much is it to have a tach fitted?

Hi Crosscut, yes you can have an o licence for a domestic address, you need to advertise your intentions to operate from your address in your local paper to allow all your neighbours the chance to object!!, the vehicle must be off the road and you must have sufficient room to properly maintain the vehicle, there are other considerations. It wont be easy but it can be done

We had one from from my home but when i tried to add a second vehicle to it the area traffic commisioner refused so we now operate from our yard

£1500 ish all digital now

That very much depends if your having it fitted to a new or old vehicle. If your vehicle was registered before the 1st of May 2006 you can still have an Analouge Tacho fitted. I know as my mate fits em day in day out! After May 06 you must have digi.

Quick question from a new member, forgot to say hello when i first joined so a big belated hello to fellow forum members, anyway back to my question what is this tree surgeons obsession with Unimogs?

OUCH!!!!!!!! Thats more than I'm paying for the damn trailer! some days it really does feel like someone doesn't want me to be self employed!

Are there going to be any benefits to me from having a Tacho?

Posted

When was your transit registerd? You may be able to have a analouge tacho fitted which can be cheaper.

Benefits well no not really other than if you are towing commercially and get stopped and are not using a tacho you could be prosecuted!
