My first attempt at the kern splice, hasn't turned out too bad! Was really tight to crossover and bury though!

I'll post a pic of the finished lanyard when I've done the other end

Lanyard finished! Bit long though so will prob end up cutting down and putting another eye in

Nice work. Don't cut it. Long lanyard are very useful. Do a short on as well.:thumbup1:

Good stuff. Where did you find Kernmaster on a reel or did you cut a long rope down? I've just bought a cinch so was going to get 5m or so and splice it.

I climb on Kern and can't help but think it would be a total pig to splice.:sneaky2:

Did you have much trouble?taper the core at all?

 

Tricky to get the core out and by all accounts everyone else that spliced it said that you need to taper the core to have any hope of doing it! Finished it out of spite really!
