Do any of you guys on here go deer stalking. If so what species of deer do you go after and what type of rifle do you's use.

Any pics or stories of successful hunts would be great.

I started last year and have got a Tikka T3 Hunter in 6.5x55 with a ASE Utra Jet-Z Sound Mod fitted. I have shot 5 Fallow deer (3 Bucks and 2 Does) and hoping to get a few more this season.

Just got in from an outing this evening... mostly roe with me but shoot with a BSA .270 no moderator and with a meopta 7x50 scope.

Had a yearling this evening and a really nice buck, not sure what weight he is yet but will find out in the larder in the morning.

Nice one Nige, didnt know John was into tinterweb!

I did have a look into the photo gallery, just to make sure there wasnt a portrait of him. That would have put off a few punters:scared1:

On a serious note, i can vouch for John's professional attitude to his sport. He is a very steady guy, who seems interested in anything outdorrs, but when it comes to his stalking "passionate" would be an understatement.

Cheers Pete, I'll pass that on to John. :001_smile:

Like me, he's finally been dragged into the 21st Century, 9 years after it started! :blushing:

If your after a processer, you'll be needing some more wood? ;)

Nice big buck yesterday, 17.4kg larder weight.

Did you just take the backsteaks?:001_tongue:

To be fair I think this one and its mate jumped the fence at the Safari park down the Valley from this picture.

.308 sako for deer and .222 for fox and .38 special for humane killing

Blimey someone with a .38. You have section 7, could you come to mine and humanely dispatch my next door neighbours. They need to be put out of their own and my misery.
