A quick intro .

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies and gents new to the forum and already my little grey matter is in overdrive .wow what a mine of knowledge.

Myself and the other half are putting forwards a proposal to the forestry commission Scotland for a 210 acre starter farm in Scotland .We are currently smallholders with Hebradean sheep, kune kune pigs and meat goats .we have outgrown our current land and outbuildings so are making the move towards a bigger farm .

The farm we are applieing for also has the possibility of also taking on 90 acres of mixed woodland and replanting mixed woodland on a 35 acre area .

I,ve been horse logging on and off for about 20 years but always in forestry in Germany so have no quals to speak of not even my chainsaw ticket .

what will the minimum be do you think the forestry commission will want as i would like to pre empt them and get as qualified as possible pre interviewing starts for the farm/woodland tenancy ... Many thanks for taking your time to read this .Verdifish

Sounds fantastic!

I would think getting your CS30 and CS31 tickets would be a good start.
