Being slightly ignorant here.........will those saws be repairable or have they had it? I often look at old cars/bikes and think it's a pile of junk only to see them brought back to life looking and working as new.

They may well be repairable, but it if it is worth it is up to the condition of the internals, and what money/effort you want to put into it.

 

A piece is missing from the case of the 162/266, and I don't know how sound the "repair" that has been done is....

 

I would start with checking the condition of the top ends and cranks.

Just started work on an old 162SE, compression is over 170psi and it all looks in pretty good nick. Had to change the throttle and safety interlock mechanism and fit a new diaphragm but reckon it will be up and running shortly:thumbup:

The 380CD has the ignition, flywheel and starter missing,also no chain brake, so this is probably beyond economic repair, the 162 has a chunck of the crankcase broken off and some sort of repair, as has been said it depends on the condition of the internals as to wheather this is worth repairing.

I will keep my eye on this.....nothing but respect for those with the skills, (and know how of where to get parts!), to bring these old things back to life.
