The polychain on our Rayco is £350. I tried to get one direct from Gates but Rayco have them cut to their own width. The stuff is made like a big tube and is parted off at whatever width someone wants, lots of machinery manufacturers make an oddball width pulley ( which is cheap to do ) and then have the belts trimmed off making them oddball to a standard fitment. Clever marketing:thumbdown:

I had considered running 3 20mm width ones but even that would be over 600 quid, they are availbale for £350 in the States but £800 here retail.

I dont think anything else would cope. The diameter of the pulley has to be small to not affect depth of cut , V belts on this diameter pulley would never get enough belt contact to grip. Best just by the lube and let the manufacturers have their way. They are cheaper from the states but import and vat taxes make it a pound to the dollar.
