Accountancy fees

know of some people who just turn up at their accountants with a bag full of receipts and invoices..I would expect to pay more if I kept my books that poorly!

 

I am guilty of that, that's why I have the book keeper, I don't mind working but I hate the paperwork involved, she is worth every penny to keep everything in order.

This is interesting. My step mum is my bookkeeper, and does them monthly. I do the paye using the HMRC software, and my own self assessment, so the accountants once a year produce some unaudited accounts and submit the corporation tax return. For this they charged £1075.00 this year.

 

Anyone recommend an accountant in the Woking/Camberley/Guildford area?

I am a real dumpling when it comes to paperwork and organising, I have simple spread sheet that I fill in every month/ week or when ever. I am a one man band also.

I've just changed accountants after 20 years been threatened for a few years but after they landed me a big tax bill for a year where I'd been struggling to make ends meet I decided enough was enough, new one is charging me £460 no VAT and could'nt be more helpful asked me more questions whilst he was preparing the accounts than the last lot have in 20 years.
