If you get to Lake Vrynwy, find the hand that Simon O'Rourke carved. There's a couple of Douglas firs next to it that are only a man's length off 200'

 

It's on the north side, just to the north east of a little car park/pull in place

Fair enough. It's worth the drive if you get the chance. From betws direction, take the devil's pass to vrynwy brilliant road to drive. Just make sure you've got decent brakes :)

the tallest tree in britain was at lake vyrnwy, but they cut it down on country file a few years ago!!

 

I think that's the one that got carved into a hand. There's a plaque there about it

Is that where you climbed something like a 180' a couple of years back Dan?

Lake Vyrnwy is a pretty special place, went to a mates wedding there a few years back.
