Educate me here guys, why wouldn't you use the chippings in a children's play ground?

I'm a complete novice so it's a genuine question.

Haha, yes I knew they were spikey. . . When chippings were referred to I thought it was actual wood chippings that shouldn't be used other than the green.

 

I thought there may be an issue with the sap or something along those lines

Not that I'm aware of. I know it's hellishly sticky, but imagine it would dry. Who knows...

Not many of use separate the needles from the wood before chipping mate.

Maybe a few select areas of Cheshire or Surrey.

I've actually got a young MPT at the bottom of my drive, all this talk of them being difficult to deal with is making me nervous. . . Saying that it's currently only seven foot tall so it will be a long time before it needs any work done it. . I'll post a photo of it in due course.

I've got a nice scar on my left hand from a monkey puzzle right through a rigger glove to! what surprised me the most though was the spider paradise I found at the top!
