I've had 2 disco 3's.

 

My first was a base spec. Not even an 's' model on an 08 plate. It was manual and a fantastic alternative to a 110 van. Already mentioned here but I'll say it again, front and rear bushes are a fast wearing part and if you leave them you end up replacing tyres aswell :( . General servicing wasn't too bad and the 105k cam belt service wasn't horrific either through my local independent lr garage.

 

My second one is a 4.4 Hse. Yep petrol. Never gets more than 14mpg (not even going gently) but with a good remap it's putting out 350 bhp. Usual diesel problems, just with sub 7 second 0-60 and a better mid range pull than just about anything else iv driven.

If you get one get a fixed tow bar as this is what happens with the detachable ones I only used it to tow once or twice a year waist of a brand new chipper ATTACH]174933[/ATTACH]

 

Thats quite a picture.....!

 

On the thread any big landrover is good.. disco, range rover, defender... :biggrin:
