Not firewood honda g100

Have a honda g100 engine that was working fine however after being left in the garage now won't start and when it does very rough on tick over.anti stall spring back and forth like mad

 

Any ideas where to start??

Carb diaphragm or choke stuck

Air filter maybe, by anti stall do you mean engine is hunting?

It so may be a fuel problem, how long has it been sat?

have you emptied the water trap? I borrowed a neighbours rotovator that behaved like that for a set off, emptied the water out and it dragged me round the garden all afternoon

Been sat for best part of a year

 

Air filter is clean but not sure about water trap check that tomorrow

Fuel gone stale, flush it out & fingers crossed, if not a carb strip & clean.

Carb strip & clean. Not a difficult little job but do it in a clean area or inside a clear plastic bag so you dont lose anything. If in doubt take pics of each stage which will help.
