Sorry, this is down to my total incompetence at organising anything (good job there are no breweries nearby!)

I will try to get in touch with Geoff and arrange something re. trailer which would then tie it up, if that's an option?

No problem, Alec, but if somebody wants it before then I will sell it to them. I'm afraid it has to be 1st to collect it gets it. :001_smile:

i was looking forward to turning this timber. a deal's a deal surely.

Given that this thread dates back to January, I think I have been reasonably patient. I'm still happy for you to have it if you can get your end of the bargain organised but I'm not going to pass up on a definite buyer if one comes along before then.

Have you made anything from the pear yet? I've got a few boards left bit they have split a little I've still got side largish chunks of branch wood aswel the local turners won't pay anything at all for it so unless someone comes up and offers me more than firewood value is going in dumpy bags I'm afraid. I would even be happy to let a small amount go in exchange for something made from it

why local turners don't want to pay for timber is beyond me...

if someone offers me a freebie then i happily accept but if there is a wood that i desire then i'll happily pay for it.

try putting it on ebay?
