had an interesting thing happen to me the other day.

i recieved a rather nasty blow to my left eye (i'll spare you the details!) and it hurt like hell.

the pain was intense, but the pain was not in my eye it was inside my head, it felt like someone had punched my brain! but eventually the pain faded and i forgot about it

then about half an hour later my vision started to go funny in my left eye, icould see clearly thru my right eye but everything in the left was blurry. i went into the toilets and looked in the miror to see if i had anything stuck in it.

when i looked i noticed the pupil in my right (un-injured) eye was quite large but the pupil in my left eye was tiny!! i looked like some crazy cartoon villain!

my vision cleared after about an hour but my pupils are still slightly uneven!!

plus i didnt get a black eye, but my eyelids were very sore!!

...so, anyone else? should i be worried? should i just go and see a doctor like my girlfriend keeps saying?

Yes.

It sounds like a mild case of brain damage. :thumbup1:

On the plus side, it hasn't killed you yet and it sounds like it's getting better rather than worse, so you'll probably be fine.

All the same I think you'd be wise to see a doctor.

Arbtalk is great place to come for advice on tree surgery but possibly less so for brain surgery. :001_smile:

Seems like the pressure of the impact occured behind the eye, distorting things slightly. Any head impacts/blows, straight to quack for a frontal lobotomy...I mean check up, just in case something unseen occurs within the skull. Just not worth the risks of leaving it.

sounds like a bit of concusion, i got a big chunk of birch come out the back of the chipper and caught me straight on the right eye socket, i had just got it, couldnt wait to use it and didnt want my annoying groundy at the time to put the first bit of wood through it, so i didnt bother with my helmet, what an idiot. had to sit down for about 20 mins, sore as hell. take some arnaca and ibuprofen to reduce any swelling and go and see the doctor mate
