It's in the news as one of the new big trends for 2015, anyone ever made it or birch syrup?

 

At £5/lt for water and up to £200/lt for syryp worth a punt:lol:

Doesn't keep long fresh hence it is usually boiled and either glucose or cheaper sugar added , just over 2euro per litre . I love it , very refreshing drink ..

You can't tap birch at this time of year though. If you cut branch off when the sap starts rising it will run like a tap just stick a bucket under it.

If I'm cutting Birch in the spring I always cut one that I'm going to fell later, put a cup under the cut and enjoy the best drink ever when it's full. Love the stuff.
