Link below for the Irish Forestry Show in Stradbally Co. Laois. 9-10 May - which is a Saturday and Sunday. Seems a bit odd to have it on a weekend, I know it will suit some folks better to go on a day off rather than stopping work for a day to visit it but I would think it better to do business at a show on a week day. but that's just me, anyone else have any thoughts on this??

There are pros and cons to whichever day of the week to have a show. But the organiser's view must be that the visitor numbers over a weekend make it a viable event, maybe because they feel that families may pay to be there along with the crucial element of any show, which of course is the buyer of the products being exhibited.

I suspect that the 'specialist' audience here in Ireland isn't big enough to sustain this sort of event on its own, and that the organisers are aiming at the family-day-out market to boost the numbers (and income!) through the turnstiles.

Ive been at the Irish shows the last 2 times as have been at the last 2 apfs.. Our shows arent a patch on apf to be honest. Ill be looking to go to a decent show in europe this year. The last show in Laois was forestry based but had climbing Competitions and a small bit of Arb stuff. The Ploughing is better for machinery too.

We were debating attending the Irish Forestry show this year now that we have branched out full time in Ireland. Business for us seems to have exploded there last year so I am interested to know anyone's thoughts on this show previously or now. I have been told the footfall was good?
