Just stumbled on this when browsing amazon. Looks like a really good bit of kit and simple to use, though a bit pricey for what it is at £175...

Has anyone any experience with one of these? It'd put an end to the usual excuse of not being able to sharpen a saw!

And no I'm not a timberline sales rep

Looks awesome but if that's the price it's a bit steep!

Yep saw it at APF great piece of kit. The files are £35 each you get one with each unit then you have to buy others separate. Got one for Xmas £135 free postage. There is one one e-bay at mo £135 with 2 files bargin, would have got it if didt have one for xmas.

OMG, did you know that when you bought it? Please tell me they last a decade in daily use

Part of the use of a chainsaw is understanding the cutting mechanism and how different angles affect the way a saw cuts.

Learn to sharpen without gizmos

HI TREE your right loads cheaper and better with a good file no caps for you :thumbup1:thanks jon

I agree its certainly a bit pricey, especially if that's what the files are! Though being carbide I'd expect them to last for a long time. They look similar to carbide air grinder bits and they last for donkeys even when really abused spinning at 20k rpm :D

Trouble with gizmo sharpening is, one day you wont have the gizmo, or 35 quid for a file:001_rolleyes:

I know I hope they do as well. No I didt know. The picture had 3 different sizes and said £35. Obviously I thought that was for 3. Wrong £35 for one. O well deed done just have to use it a lot. Saying that it works really well and so easy and it gives factory sharp finish. I hear you say it should do for that price:thumbup:
