What limits a species life?

Faith is "complete trust or confidence in someone or something" you don't need to feel that way about scientific understanding, you can simply accept current understanding as it makes sense, but be happy to accept changes as they come along and make more sense.

 

 

 

Having spent the first 30 years of my life in a strict religious community I feel most people of faith believe because they want, maybe even need to believe. Many can't face the realities of life, they need a narrative that gives it meaning and a point.

 

 

Agreed, but some people arrive at a position of faith based on evidence that points in a certain direction.

"Blind" faith never made any sense to me..

We're all on a journey of understanding. I guess it all comes down to choices at the end of the day.

I disagree. The whole point of Faith is that it requires no evidence to support it. That's why you will be hard pushed to find a scientist who will categorically state that God does not exist. There is no evidence to support such a claim.

This is quite long, but very informative from the perspective of both sides. Such debates are becoming more rare now as many from the science community refuse to debate the matter further.

I don't tend to spend a lot of time debating the lack of evidence for the tooth fairy either.
