Quite often take chipper on trailer . Ball hitch on landrover front bumper, reverse chipper onto trailer one l/r wheel up ramp, unhitch and bobs your uncle. Do it also with part load of chip on way home. Loads with ifor off vehicle, handbrake on, chock wheels, loading jacks down and away you go

The brakes on Ifors are pretty good. If we need to do this I just unhitch and use the truck to pull it on. Do it with big logs too. It can be a bit Heath Robinson though it's very simple. We don't have ramps, we have the large tailgate version so no need for the third ramp and if you're careful one person can do it by themselves.

i will pop up a photo of setup i have on my trailer tommorow. although not for a chipper but a log splitter if its going long distance.

picked up a cheap hand winch and towball, got blacksmith to make up frame for it and bolted onto headboard of trailer.

only modification since is i replaced the awful handle on winch with one off a jockey wheel that had hit road and its so much better.

log splitter is give or take 3/4 of a ton as tractor at work can just lift it and its rated for that lift.

a better winch would have been nicer that had a ratchet for lowering as well as pulling on but hey it works well for me.

pics sometime tommorow
