Prusik help for Rope Access technician

I'm rope access too (arborist first). You could try a Rig and stay firmly within IRATA regs (they do not condone prusiks) Its much easier to pull rope through than the cumbersome ID or if you like ID's why not get one with the button which allows free passage of the rope? I wouldn't be getting involved with 4 ropes. Regardless - test whatever system you use and stay safe.

Just watched the ASAP video...when it stops you sliding how does the Shock effect your line? I pressume it is very low stretch?

The ropes are semi static. The Asap is used in combination with an energy absorber that engages when there is to much energy created.

I actually stayed away from the rig because it looked like it had a tighter bend radius on the ropes than the id.

My situation could be compared to an easy limb walk. Just lean back in the rope as you walk out on a branch. Maybe a wrench is needed for this to. I dont know..

The only legal issue is to use a fall arrest system, wich I do.

Edit: English is not my language. So please be kind:-)

Off topic, but I would never have guessed. Your English is by far better than many people I know who speak it as a first language

If you are using this line for work positioning only, and have a seperaye line for fall arrest, I see no issue with using a hitch and slack tending pulley on a single line. It should work well.

I read this in the tread "my first go on SRT" It kind of what I am struggling with the ID at the moment when walking down roofs.

Bad bits-

When branch walking without much weight on line, the rope wrench added a lot of friction so couldn't get more rope through without pulling hard.
