If you don't know them that well, and they are rarely around...........Now consider dropping her a note to confirm the verbal agreement. That ways it's written down when one forgets the exact discussion in a few weeks.

 

And sometimes it's worth offering to clean up her side (trim etc.) and build up some good will in the bank.

 

What, like 'Trim yer bush missus while I'm here?"

Having been involved in "accidental" removal having been hoodwinked by a client trust me it ain't worth it. I wasn't implicated but the home owner is and the hassle it has caused him really isn't worth it.

Outcome is, I asked her and she said "yes". My protracted legal battle is over before it begun :D

Topping the tree won't solve the damage though. Got a picture of damage. Someone here may suggest you go and ask if you can fell. Try the friendly approach with photos, (first).
