Yup, it is the simplest way of getting the saw to perform something getting closer to the MS200. Just stick a 6mm drill through the part that comes through the side cover and follow it with a 10mm drill. It will make the saw come alive but will not fix an inherent fault if there is is a fault with the saw!

 

Thankyou! just done this with my first older 201t (2011 model) after reading your post. its a diffrent saw, much closer to a 200t.:thumbup:

You can improve the performance with the Stihl " enhancement kit " which has in it a new flywheel ( ignition advance a bit ) and spark unit ( I think ) and possibly a new carb ? Anyway its what the have done to the newer ones from the factory .

 

That's correct but some dealers deny this kit exists and others (gustharts) will sell you it for a decent price around £70 ish
