Used an Echo but it seemed heavy? Might of been that model though.

Yes would rather extensions that telescopic as guess lighter when only using one section?

Get one of those easy lift harnesses. The Echo pruner does feel heavy (as does most Echo stuff) but spread the load with a harness it makes a hard job a hell of a lot easier.

Got one! Im after one for mainly thrashing big hedges and the saw for doing multiple crown lifts etc

Look at Echo Echo Power Pruner Accessories they have some nice extra hedge cutting accessories.

If you do a lot then a pole pruner is money well spent but for the odd bit then a good set of poles with a saw /lopper is the best.

I bought an echo telescopic pruner last year.

I wasn't sure how much I would use it but we do loads with it now.

It is heavier than the Stihl by miles, but more robust.

The throttle set up is a bit crappy with a weird enclosed design - not as easy as the Stihl I used to have - but then again the Stihl wrecked three shafts (the last one only lasted 6 months).

We find it useful on windblown stuff where you can work on stressed sections from a safe distance without having to be in/on the tree itself.

Also Echo say its fine to use the hedge cutter attachment (not recommended on the Stihl).

Overall, build up Popeye arms or buy the Easylift, and get an Echo - you will use it!
