Sainsbury's are massive supporters of the charity I work for as a volunteer.

Helping the homeless and addicted turn their lives around (me being one of them).

They provide free food to all our centres and provide us with many opportunities to raise much needed funds in their stores... Such as bag packing and carol singing.at Christmas when our other charitable businesses are a bit slow. (Only our tree works does well )

I personally know the person who developed the poppy appeal at corporate Sainsburys, I can vouch that they are not cynical money grabbers.

Sainsburys historically have a good social responsibility ethos.

I would much rather support a supermarket that has a genuine concern and shows practical support for many good causes.

I for one wish Sainsburys every success in both their charity work and their commercial operations.

It's a shame that more large commercial organisations don't operate with the same responsibility.
