T.e.r stolen register

Last week i went to buy a ivor williams trailer on ebay ,when i checked it with t.e.r they told me it was stolen in 2004 ,so i got my deposit back and went elsewhere ,next thing the seller is on the phone telling me that im a timewaster ,and the local police in that area said it was not recorded stolen in there area .

the guy has now put it back on ebay .so lads keep away i's a 12x6 lm126

twin axle flat bed serial no sckk60000010328087/2001 painted sides in staffordshire ,he is refering to me as the time waster mmm,i bought a newer 14foot one the same day off a ifor williams main dealer in leek H.F.B TRAILERS

Couldn't TER contact the loser and put him in touch with you? That way you'd find out if there was an isurance payout, whether he still wants it back etc. The fact that the trailer was reported stolen 10 years ago doesn't preclude it legitimately being up for sale now.

 

All of which is too late now of course - enjoy the new trailer - but I'm just making the point that it may have been possible to legitimately acquire the first one.

You would have thought that the seller would have checked that through and sorted any issues arising, the TER stickers are no exactly small. Dont blame you for walking away.

I Wont touch a ifor wiliams trailer unless it's registered in ifor williams in the owner's name and not on the stolen register ,if it was legitimate ,he should be selling it cheaper as it stolen recovered ,it's worth less .it's back on ebay .
